Recommendations for Chennai Film Festival

Recommendations for Chennai Film Festival:

The Fencer:  The Story happens during the World War in Russia. It's the story of a Fencing master who escapes from the army and serves in a school as a teacher.

The Dark Horse :  This film slightly reminded me of "Scouting for zebras" from last year. But this deals with a chess champion who has a bipolar disorder.

Love :  The Ardent fans who enjoyed the Goddard's 3D movie and the "Blue is the Warmest Color" will enjoy this movie to the core. ;)  (18+)

Taxi :  A Must Watch movie,  just for the director and for his passion for the movies. Jaffar Panahi, who was banned for making films is in Jail right now came out in a bail and shot the film and sent it to the film festival through his wife and won many awards. He also features in this movie..

Rams :  An wonderful movie about a sheep, not just for animal lovers.

Flocking:  It's a story of a young girl who accuses her fellow student for a sexual assault on her. A suspense drama will keep you thinking throughout the movie. This movie reminded me of 'The Hunt" from last year.

Embrace of the Serpent:  The Winner of Goa Film Festival and many more awards.  A Must Watch movie little slow to watch..

The above movies are my recommendations for Chennai Film Festivals. However there are few movies that are not screened in Chennai, but
screened in IFFI, Goa.

Danish Girl :  The story of a Man who has a feminine qualities in him becomes a woman.  Excellent perfomance by Eddie Redmayne. I would rate this as the Best Film of 2015. A Must Watch.

Accused : A true story of a lady who has been accused for killing babies and old people in a famous hospital.

Cinemawala  (Marathi) An emotional drama about movie buff whose son chooses Pirate DVD selling as his profession. The climax is the highlight of the movie.

Filosofi Kopi Indonesia is famous for coffee plantations.  A coffee 'maker'who faces a challenge to make a best coffee in Indonesia to save his pride as well as his friend's coffee shop.

Frenzy: A slow thriller about three brothers, a man who sent in a parole to find a terrorist, A pig Hunter and a Terrrorist..! Excellent Screenplay gives you goose bumps at the end.

The Moving Forest:  A movie based on Shakespeare's "Hamlet". Excellent performance and a brilliant screenplay keeps the thriller interesting till the end. MUST Watch

The Man who Knew Infinity:  Sreenivasa Ramanujam, the great mathematician's life portrayal has been documented recently in Tamil. However like Richard Attenborough's Gandhi, I prefer this movie has more life.

Dev Patel simply rocks and grew up as a wonderful actor. MUST Watch

Enjoy Cinema!!
